Summary
For this project, we worked on a luxury space in New York City’s Upper West Side. The client had purchased three units for renovation into one and wanted a Savant System solution similar to the one in family’s existing home – this time, with state-of-the-art technology.
The Savant system includes home AV and entertainment, lighting, climate control, surveillance, and motorized shades.
We used a Ketra lighting system that automatically adjusts color temperature according to outside light to regulate the family’s circadian rhythm. Ketra also brings stylistic benefits. The grand foyer, for example, includes 2,000 LED lights that change color to create impressive works of art.
With beautiful, large windows overlooking the Manhattan skyline, smart shading was another cornerstone. We used J Geiger /Savant shades with decorative mounts, and each bedroom had Savant sunshades and Lutron blackout shades with in-wall recessed side channels.
For multi-room audio, we completed a sound system installation with 28 invisible speakers. These connect to a Savant Music System with access to Pandora, Spotify, SiriusXM Radio, and AirPlay.
The living room and family room have 7.1 and 5.1 surround sound setups, respectively. The living room has a 75-inch TV within beautiful marble framing while the family room has an 85-inch TV in a custom AV cabinet.
The master bedroom has a 55-inch TV on a recessed arm mount. The viewing position adjusts to watch streaming services or Blu-ray movies from bed or the bedroom’s sitting area.
